Description

Artist's Perch is your comfy escape in the redwood trees. Gaze into Sequoias from every window and deck while refreshing your spirit. The fresh air and blanket of green "leaves" and blue skies are the perfect backdrop for this artist's home away from home. With the artist's original paintings throughout the home, guests will relax while cooking, playing board games and catching up on a good book. Cozy up and stream a movie on the flat-screen smart TV in the living room. Alexa devices in each bedroom and the living room, an Xbox for gaming and a stereo with Bose speakers keep the music flowing too. With a strong wifi signal and desk in the upstairs master suite in case you need to work, but we think you'll prefer soaking in the hot tub after a hike or bike ride.

Perfect for two couples or a family, Artist's Perch is an ideal home base to explore Sonoma County's famous wine county, craft breweries and outdoor adventures. An expansive deck off the kitchen includes a propane BBQ, dining and lounge areas to appreciate the fruits of your travels: locally grown produce, sustainably raised meats, and, of course, wine! Bring along the dog and kids - Artist's Perch is everyone-friendly!

Know Before You Book:

Maximum Occupancy and Quiet Hours: The maximum occupancy at Artist's Perch is 6 people. Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm until 7:00 am. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at any time.

Parking: There is parking for 2 cars along the fence at the street level. Street parking is scarce. RVs, trailers and campers are prohibited, per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance.

Bed Sizes: First bedroom: Queen bed; Second bedroom: Queen bed; Living Room: Queen sleeper sofa.

Heat Source: This home has central heat in addition to a woodstove in the living room. Firewood is not provided, but you may use any left at the property.

A/C: 2 portable A/C Units available during warmer weather, typically May 1st to October 15th.

Road to Artist's Perch: The house is located up a narrow one-lane road. It is a two-way, one-lane curvy hillside road - fully paved and no special vehicle is required. We provide detailed written driving directions to confirmed guests.

Stairs: There are several sets of stairs at the house: one from the main driveway to the front door with approximately 50 steps. Once inside the house there is one flight of stairs from the main level of the house to the lower level.

Lower Suite: The second master suite is downstairs and has a great sense of privacy, but there is not a door at the stairs.

Work from HERE: Artist's Perch has two workspaces - one in each bedroom - and a top-of-the-line wifi router capable of supporting multiple devices, including multiple zoom video sessions simultaneously. The house has two separate routers for excellent coverage throughout the house and as backup.
Advertised Wifi Speed: Gigabit - consistently 500 mbps

Fencing: The yard is fenced for a mild-mannered dog. This may not be enough to keep an exuberant dog in the yard. We recommend checking the fence before letting your dog off-leash.

A note about the TV: The Smart TV is already setup with Netflix, Amazon Video, Hulu, and hundreds of streaming channels. Guests can install their own apps if needed. The television does not have cable services.

Security Cameras: For the safety of guests and the home, there are security cameras outside - facing the parking and entry of the property.

Proximity to Wineries: The closest wine tasting rooms are in downtown Guerneville - approx. 1 mile.

Nearest River Beach: The nearest river access/beach is a neighborhood beach 0.5 mi from the house - though the beach is variable.

Nearest Ocean Beach: The coastal beaches in Jenner are approx. 13 miles.

Beautiful area and the place was great. Just like the pictures and description. The patio was great to relax with the others and we enjoyed the grill. It was wonderful to have the hit tub. Only factor is you need to be able to climb 45 steps to carry your items. Great lighting everywhere. Parking is tricky - only 2 spaces for all 6 guests and road is narrow but drivable. It was close to a few beaches on the river that were accessible and relaxing to use floating devices and our Kayaks. Restaurants and stores were nearby. We have a lovely stay!-via Airbnb

Loved our stay. The place was beautiful and equipped with everything we needed. The porch area was phenomenal and the perfect place to relax. Check in at 4pm was a little later than we would have hoped but noon check out made up for it. The only down side was a little bit of traffic noise from the road but could only hear it out on the patio. Overall, loved our stay-via Airbnb

This house has great style and a very well stocked kitchen. I love cooking and I'm always worried the kitchen will not have what I need to make a great dinner. it's a gorgeous view from both inside and the porch! The art was also all beautifully painted. We brought bikes to be able to ride into town as it's only a mile. What we didn't realize was how steep the incline to the property is and how many steps it took to get in to the house. Bikes were not really a viable option. I highly recommend it his place with all its amenities assuming you don't need ADA compliance and are okay driving to and from town.-via Airbnb

This is a wonderfully-cozy retreat for anyone looking for a quiet getaway in the Russian River area. As many have attested to before, the stairs from the street to the home are very steep...just be prepared and pack well so you're not carrying anything too heavy. The beds and sofa were super cozy, the hot tub was easy to use, and the kitchen had everything you need + more I would say. Waking up to the views of the tall trees directly outside of the window is exactly as great as you would imagine. The location is also great as you're basically less than a 5 minute drive to the main part of town, and even closer to a Safeway for all grocery needs.-via Airbnb

We enjoyed our time at the house, which had plenty of room for two of us. The kitchen is well-stocked with equipment, but I recommend packing food storage containers or ziplock bags for any leftovers you may have. The area is fairly quiet other than some road noise and it's nice to be surrounded by trees, but you are not secluded—there are a couple of houses next door with views of the property/back deck. The art throughout the home created a charming atmosphere though some of the furnishings could use an update. All in all we had a positive stay!-via Airbnb

Great spot nestled in the woods. The decor across the whole apartment is super unique and interesting! It's a 5 min drive to Guerneville so amazing location. We loved the cute patio, hot tub and grill! There are pretty intense stairs you have to go down to get to the home so it is not the most accessible.-via Airbnb

We've been to many Airbnbs all around California. This one is easily one of the best ones. The place was fully equipped, while still being cozy and homey. Great location, entertainment options, hot tub, just everything. We loved every minute of it! note - the staircase from street to house and from first floor to bottom floor is very steep, so if you have any walking/climbing challenges, you should skip it. We needed an escape from the craziness of the past two years and decided to find a rental in The Guerneville Area. We try to deal exclusively with River home rentals because we always end up with great experiences. Again was not disappointed. The amazing canopy of redwood trees and the well appointed outdoor spaces, kitchen and living area were better than what we were expecting. The master bedroom on the lower level was its own little sanctuary and provided some of the best nights sleep in a long time. Definitely will be returning in the future.

My husband and I loved, loved our stay at Artist's Perch. We loved everything about the home. Some key highlights were the fully stocked kitchen, we cooked every night we were there, the beautiful deck with hot tub, the house is immaculately clean, new washer and dryer, Alexa in every room, beautiful artwork, bathrooms are large and beautiful. I took the bathroom downstairs and husband took the one upstairs. We loved our stay and can't wait to come back!

Beautiful spot just outside of town surrounded by the redwoods! Perfect location to jump around wine tasting for two ladies and our fur babies. Hot tub was clean and bubbly with the right amount of heat. Kitchen was equipped with basic cooking needs. All around a well thought-out space for anyone looking to get away.

What a beautiful and cozy property! Well-appointed kitchen, so you should be able to cook most meals unless you need very specialized equipment. The couch was so comfy, a perfect spot to curl up with a book after a dip in the hot tub or a nearby hike. The deck was spacious and just lovely to spend time on. We loved the many windows overlooking the trees; you feel like you're right in nature, yet still close to civilization. We also loved how private it felt. Do be advised, there are quite a few stairs to get down to the house, and also once you're inside, so be aware of that if anyone in your party may have mobility issues. We would absolutely stay here again!

This place exceeded our expectations! I did not want to leave! The decor and art were beautiful and really adds life to the home. There are large windows in every room so you can enjoy the views of the beautiful sequoia trees. They provided everything we needed and more, even bowls for our pup! The deck was our favorite part, especially the relaxing hot tub! They really went above and beyond in making sure your stay is the best. I could go on and on about this place because it was that amazing! We hope to return soon when we are in need of another relaxing getaway.

Stylish and cozy! This is a great place to hang out and relax. The kitchen is well equipped, the living room is spacious and comfortable, and the grill and hot tub on the deck are a perfect way to end the day. Beaches and oceans are nearby (try exploring the tide pools at Shell Beach) and the food in town is amazing (try the pork shoulder or vegan bowl at “boon eat + drink”).--via AirBnB

Artists Perch is THE PERFECT place to really get away and enjoy natural beauty. The home is so quiet and cozy, the perfect size for two or three people, and the outdoor patio and hot tub are fantastic amenities. It's a very cute home with GREAT ART everywhere, and all the tech you need to relax and enjoy the quiet--basically ways to play music (although the full tv/cable/wifi is avail, and that was awesome because there's no phone service!). The stairs aren't as daunting as they look, and the kitchen is perfect to cook in--not too big or too small. I cannot recommend Artists Perch enough!!!via AirBnB

My husband and stayed at The Artist Perch with another couple. We needed a getaway from it all and we had two events we attended in the area. We loved this space. It is centrally located and close to all the river amenities. Grocery store is minutes away, but the kitchen is totally stocked with the basics, delicious coffee, condiments gourmet salts and special goodies etc. We found this really welcoming and convenient b/c many rentals don't have this. The appointments, art and special design touches were stellar. The outside space was my favorite , but our friends were blown away by the quality of towels and linens. We will definatley go back to this property.

We really enjoyed our relaxing stay at the Artist Perch. The layout of the house is really nice. I especially liked having the deck right off the kitchen. We ate all our meals outside. The house is really comfortable, well-stocked and decorated very nicely. My husband and I slept downstairs and it felt like we had our own apartment. Very quiet and tranquil. I also really enjoyed the beach which was a very close walk. It was so comfortable that once we arrived the only reason we left was to go to the beach! Sitting in the hot tub under the Redwoods was perfect before bedtime! I look forward to our next visit. Manager Response:Thank you for the review!
